Pedro Pascal (often pronounced [xo?se ?peð?o ?alma?seða pas?kal] in Spanish; born on April 2, 1975) is a widely recognized actor with dual Chilean-American citizenship. After spending almost two decades in small roles in both theater and TV, Pascal rose to fame as Prince Oberyn Martell in the fourth season of the HBO fantasy show *Game of Thrones* (2014). He further rose to fame by playing the character of Javier Peña in the Netflix crime series Narcos (2015–2017). Pascal subsequently appeared in the films *The Great Wall* (2016), *Kingsman: The Golden Circle* (2017), *The Equalizer 2* (2018), and *Triple Frontier* (in 2019).
His starring roles as Din Djarin, also known as "The Mandalorian," in the Disney+ sci-fi show *The Mandalorian* (beginning in 2019 and still ongoing) and the character Joel Miller in the HBO post-apocalyptic drama *The Last of Us* (from 2023 onward) brought him international fame, and earned him a reputation for portraying adoptive father figures. With the latter role, he earned many awards, including a Screen Actors Guild Award and a nomination for a Golden Globe Award. He extended his roles as parental figures in the movies *We Can Be Heroes* (from 2020), *Strange Way of Life* (2023), and playing Fink the fox in *The Wild Robot* (in 2024). Pascal also took roles in major films such as *Wonder Woman 1984* (2020) and *Gladiator II* (2024).
Active in theatre since 1999, he made his Broadway debut as Edmund in a 2019 production of *King Lear*. Pascal was named one of the most influential people of 2023 by Time magazine in the year 2023.
